When thinking about gratitude I think about our Santa Cruz community comes to mind. This community is welcoming, kind and open to new ideas.

Right after moving to Santa Cruz, I got pregnant after trying for over 2 years. There were so many offerings for expectant mothers: prenatal classes, yoga, birthing classes, mothers groups. So many opportunities to meet others and create community. I was such a fearful new mother, so worried I was not going to be the mom I desperately wanted to be. Being a new mother can be isolating and I desired a community and wanted to feel a sense of belonging. Between friends that I met through my husbands job, fellow new mothers, and later by Carolyn at Everyday Dharma Zen Center, my community was forming. Words can't adequately express the grantitude I have for this Santa Cruz community. Now that my oldest is in his senior year of high school there has been a lot of reflection. I could not have imagined a more supportive community in which to learn and grow and raise our children.

There are so many things I look back and question. Why did I do this or that? What if I would have done something else, would it be better? So many times I pushed people away because I was scared and it was a an attempt to protect myself. There is always a space that is available to Begin Again...and Again... We can take a breath and give ourselves space to open our hearts and Begin Again. No matter how many times we need.

Spiderweb of Joy welcomes you with open arms. Take a step towards joy and connection by becoming a part of Spiderweb of Joy's meditation community. Start your journey today and allow yourself to space to quiet your mind and open your heart in a supportive and inclusive environment.
